Ivan Petriak has played for Zorya since 2011. Ivan transferred to Shakhtar in the summer of 2016, but played one season for Zorya on loan (34 matches, 6 goals, 8 assists). He made his debut for the Orange-and-Blacks on July 17, 2017 and played 17 matches for the team in 2017/18 season scoring 2 goals. The player spent 2018/19 season in Hungarian Ferencvarosi (36 matches, 6 goals, 12 assists). In the summer of 2019, Ivan signed a contract with MOL Fehervar FC, where he has played during the last 3 years (124 matches, 28 goals, 26 assists).
Since 2012, he has played for the junior and youth national teams of Ukraine. Ivan’s debut for the Ukraine national team was in March 2016.
Ivan Petriak signed the 4-year contract with Shakhtar on August 22, 2022.
