Kaua Elias is a graduate of the Fluminense Academy, where he played for the junior and youth teams since 2017. On May 25, 2023, he made his debut for the senior team, recording 47 appearances in total (8 goals and 2 assists). Elias is the winner of the Copa Libertadores (2023). Since March 2023, he has been playing for Brazil U17, winning the 2023 South American U17 Championship and finishing as the tournament's top goalscorer (4 goals).
On February 8, 2025, Kaua Elias became a Shakhtar player, signing a 5-year contract with the club.
Kaua plays as a centre forward. He has a nose for goals, is strong in the air, effective both inside and outside the penalty area, and is a large yet fast and skilful player.
