Azarov is a graduate of the Dinamo Tbilisi Academy. He made his debut for the first team at the age of 17. In January 2021, Irakli moved to Dinamo Batumi. Azarov played for Belgrade-based Crvena Zvezda in the 2022/23 season. The Champion of Georgia (2019, 2020, 2021), the Champion of Serbia (2023). He participated in the 2023 UEFA European U21 Championship. Irakli made his debut for the Georgia national team on June 2, 2021.
He moved to Shakhtar on August 22, 2023, signing the five-year contract with the club.
Azarov is a full-back with excellent pace and skills, plays reliably in defence and joins the team attacks effectively. He boats great passing and shooting.
