Lucas Ferreira began his football journey at the Americano youth school, moving to the Flamengo Academy in 2017, and later to Boavista. In 2021, he joined São Paulo, signing his first professional contract with the club in March 2023. Ferreira won the Brazilian U20 Cup (2024) and the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior (Copinha-2025) with the youth team. He made his first-team debut for São Paulo on January 20, 2025 and has played a total of 23 matches (5 in the Copa Libertadores, 13 in the Brazilian league, 2 in the Brazilian Cup and 3 in the Campeonato Paulista), registering 1 goal and 1 assist.
On August 16, 2025, Lucas Ferreira became a Shakhtar player, signing a 5-year contract with the club.
Lucas plays as a right winger but can also operate on the left flank and in the role behind the striker. A technical and pacey footballer with good anthropometry, he boasts an accurate pass and a strong shot. He is effective both in build-up play and in finishing attacks.
